Read the passage below carefully and then answer the following questions.

Matter is anything that occupies space and has weight. There are three states of matter; solids liquids and gases. The solids have closely packed particles. The closeness of the particles in solids gives them a definite shape and volume. In liquids, the particles are far apart than solids but close together when compared to gases.

The liquids have a definite volume but take the shape of the container in which they are placed. In the gases, the particles are further apart and this makes the gases to lack both definite shape and volume. When the gases are put in a container, they fill up the whole space.

QUESTIONS

21.Which state of matter has no definite shape and no definite volume?

22.Which state of matter has both definite shape and volume?

23. Which state of matter has definite volume but no definite shape?

24.How many states of matter are there?
