A machine is anything that simplifies work. There are two main types of machines; simple machines and complex machines. The best example of a simple machine is a lever. The lever has three main parts; the load, the effort and the fulcrum or pivot. The load is the work to be done while the energy required to do the work is the part of the lever where motion of the machine occurs.
