1. After the third European capitalist crisis colonial powers showed a slight serious interest in the industrial future of the African countries. By large no deliberate efforts were made to establish strong industrial sectors in the colonies. Why do you think the colonialists deliberately discouraged industrial development in the colonies. Provide six (06) points.

4. “Despite the presence of Red Indians and Europeans indentured labour in America, yet Africans were enslaved in America”. Analyze the reasons which made Europeans to prefer African slaves over other forms of labour? Six (06) points.
5. A Historian was quoted that, “One of the major sectors of colonial economy experienced several alterations after the Second World War, agriculture is among of them”. With respect to colonial economy show how the introduction of agricultural development schemes created impinge to African societies. Give out six (06) relevant points to support your answers.
6. From 1900’s Afro – American intellectuals and activists convened several Pan – African conferences in different parts of the world, but the Manchester conference of 1945 was the most prominent, radical change and the turning point that separated the old world of colonialism and modern independent states. Evaluate this statement by focusing on the rise of African Nationalism. Six (06) points.
7. Imagine you were the late Mwl. Julius Kambarage Nyerere, the first President of United Republic of Tanzania, address the nation on the economic situation after independence and suggest the measures your government would have taken to address the situation. Provide four (03) points in each part.

1. Tiechy is an industry that is operating and producing different goods in Dar es Salaam but their workers are not satisfied with the working conditions. As an expert relate this situation with the rise of Luddism in Britain (Six points).
2. “Albert Einstein was a famous theoretical physicist who was also a German – born with Jewish origin. Between 1919 to 1939 he ran away from Germany to United States of America due to the political nature of Germany at that time. Give six characteristics of such political nature of Germany.
3. “Though Ukraine and Russia are currently fighting the war of interests, both were forming the Soviet Union between 1917 up to 1990’s. Trace the historical factors for the disintegration of that empire (six points).
4. Ms. Mandozo was a tourist from Tanzania who visited Palestine in January 2001, she saw the conflict between Jewish and Palestinians especially the area around Gaza strip and West Bank, whereby many people were killed. As a historian trace the background of such misunderstanding. (Six points)
5. Mr. Fredrick is an expert who stated that “while other European countries were suffering from the evil of the world crisis which started from 1939 to 1945 and the USA used this chance to emerge as a leading capitalist power.” Support his statement with six strong points.
6. The Marxist school of thought views imperialism as related to wealth acquisition by the capitalist countries through profit maximization. As a form six student formulate six characteristics of imperialism from the above school of thought.

3. “Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Michael Jackson and other famous black Americans are said to be inhabitants of America.” How did these people become the inhabitants of America? (Six points)
4. Form four students at Taifa Secondary were in a debate, and the motion stated that
“Colonial infrastructures were for the benefit of Africans.” Assume you are in opposing side, argue against the statement with six (6) strong points.
5. The historian Norman Lowe (1997) once stated that “The Second World War weakened the European states, so that at the end, they were not militarily strong enough to hold on their empires in the face of really determined campaigns for independence.” As a historian relate his statement with the rise of African nationalism (six points).
6. Mr. Kigume lived at Mbarari village and worked in one of the colonial marketing board.
One day he attended at a certain village meeting and said that “The Marketing Board failed due to various reasons from within.” Assume you were among the members of marketing board, support his statement with six points.
