INSTRUCTIONS

  1. This paper consists of section A, B and C with a total of thirteen (13) questions.
  2. Answer all questions in section A, five (5) question from section B and two (2) question from section C. Question number three (3) and four (4) are compulsory.
  3. Section A carries twenty five (25) marks, section B carries forty five (45) marks and section C carries thirty (30) marks.
  4. All writings must be in blue or black ink, except drawing which must be in pencil.
  5. All communication devices, bibles and any unauthorized materials are not allowed in the examination room.
  6. Write your Examination Number on every page of your answer sheets provided.

SECTION A (25 Marks)

Answer all questions in this section.

1. For each of the items (i) – (xx) choose the correct answer from the given alternative and write its letter besides the item number in the answer booklet provided.

(i) “And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them, and he departed; and when the cloud removed from over of the tent, behold, Miriam was leprous, as white as snow.” (Num.12:9-10). This was the punishment given to the speaker of bad words against Moses because of:

(iii) Form four students of Loleza Girls Secondary school visited Lake Nyasa on a study tour. They learnt that the lake had very many different species of animals that live in that lake. According to the biblical stories of creation, the following is about those species;

  1. They were created in order to use the firmament made in the second day.
  2. God made them in the fifth day in order to use water prepared in the second day. 
  3. They were created purposely for carrying light made in the first day.
  4. Water creatures were made in order to occupy water and dry land
  5. God wanted them to multiply for Him to have food

(iv) The following are the instructions for the Passover given to the people of Israel before the death of the first born of Egyptians except:

  1. Each house had to choose a one-year lamb or goat and two households might share if they were few in number.
  2. No borne was to be broken.
  3. The blood of the slaughtered lamb or goat had to be spotted on the two door posts.
  4. The meat was to be roasted and eaten with unleavened bread. 
  5. The meat was to be mixed with bitter herbs.

(v) “It is not right that we should give up preaching the world of God to serve tables. Therefore, brethren, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint to this duty.” (Acts 6:2-3). Describe the reason behind this statement:

  1. The disciples were increasing in number.
  2. The Apostles wanted to increase more disciples in number.

(xii) After the flood men decided to make bricks and built a city with a tower that would reach heaven. They could communicate well and were united but God confused them since they could succeed with their intention. From their unity, we learn that; 

  1. With unity all things are possible.
  2. United people are able to defeat God.
  3. God doesn’t want people who are united. 
  4. Unity confuses other people’s mind
  5. Unity is always for evil

(xiii) When Jacob came to Shechem; one of his children named Dinah went out to visit the women of the land. When Shechem Son of Hamor the Hivite, the prince of the land, saw her, he seized her and lay with her and humbled her without her consent. What might be the effect of having sex without the consent of person addressed?

  1. Happiness to the person performed the action.
  2. Blessings from God the almighty to the person.

6. A Sower went out to sow his seeds and as he sowed, some fell along the path/road and were stepped on and eaten by birds. Other seeds fell on rocky ground and started growing. But the plants did not have enough moisture and soon dried up. Some other seeds fell among thorns and the thorns grew with it and chocked the plants. And some fell into the good soil and produced hundred times as many times.

In acts 9:31 the early church had peace, built and multiplied as well, however today there are many who rise some difficulties and sufferings against others in the name of Christ while at the same time one who suffers is willing to suffer from those difficulties for the name of Christ. How can religions build up peace in our societies? Give five (05) points.
